Hey everyone!!!
It’s been the longest time since I last updated. Well, for one, there really was not much to update. But it’s going to be a mad rush to year for us, as we are getting married this year. FINALLY!! Lol!! 2010 just whizzed by us.
Let’s see what I have done so far..
Seng and I have met up with the photographer that did his colleague’s wedding photo and video, and we got the quote and we are loving what we see, and so, finally, we have decided to get him to do our ROM and actual day photographer. His friend/associate, will be the one dealing with the videos. I’m so excited about it. We’ve finally got around to getting our photographer and videographer. As you all may already know, we are doing the solemnisation and traditional wedding seperately. Our solemnisation is just 4 MONTHS away! OMG!!!
And there are still so many things that we have not exactly looked into. I’ve finally decided to custom make a Cheongsum for my solemnisation. I have not done much research and such about tailors, but I’ve managed to look up some things over the holiday weekends. Just yesterday, Seng and I walked around Chinatown and look for tailors who do custom made cheongsums, and there are good number of them located in People’s Park Centre, Prices range from $280 onwards, if you are going to choose from their selection of fabrics. If you want to search for your own fabric, then the workmanship will range from $180 onwards. Seng’s mum also recommended a tailor, from Shanghai, who does custom made cheongsums. Apparently, one of the minister’s wife goes to her to have her cheongsums made. The prices range from $350 and above a piece. I’m not sure if the price includes the materials, I’ve got to call and ask though. Also, we have to look into Seng’s suit for the solemnisation and wedding. He said that he will be tailoring one suit for both days, and he would also tailor a number of matching shirts.
We went back to SHSS recently to look about again, and we have finalised where we would like to have our solmenisation ceremony. The school had changed so much, and with the new sport complex, it’s become ginormous! We have decided to hold the ceremony in the creativity hall, which is air conditioned. And the buffet will be held outside, at the sports complex area. It’s an opened area, where the basketball and netball courts are nearby. I will post pictures of the place when I get my hands on the photos from Seng. We have also sort of decided to cater from NeoGarden for the lunch reception.
Other than that, I have not done anything else!! I’ve yet to confirm where I want to get my cheongsum done, and I’ve recently looking around for makeup artistes for my ROM and actual day wedding, and my goodness, these people make good money. The prices of their services are pretty high. Lol! I thought to just kill two birds with one stone and book the MUA for both days. Save me the trouble of having to look for two makeup artistes on seperate occasions. I’ve also yet to finalise my trip to Taiwan, and liase with the bridal studio over there. Ok, I did email them, but have yet to get a reply from them. I need to chase them for confirmation on the lodgings, tours, airport transfer, and the schedule as there will be a total of nine of us going over togther. My family and Seng’s family will be going along as well, and we will all be taking a family potrait together. And also, my sister’s friend will be tagging along for the trip.
There’s still quite abit of stuff to look into, but we have to get the more important things like my dress and his suit started. Or at least finalise which tailor we want for out stuff. Designing of my cheongsum can then start after the chinese new year. I think that things will go into full speed the moment chinese new year is over. It’s beginning to dawn to alot of people around me that I’m getting married soon. It’s really funny. People keep saying next year, but the next year is already here.
As for our new home, we’re currently awaiting HDB to inform us on when we are to head down to sign the lease of agreement and put the deposit down on our new home. When that is done, we really do have one important thing out of the way for now. It’s going to be an exciting year for us this year.
I guess that’s about it for now. Meantime, stay happy and healthy.
Love,
Qiuru xx
